Terms of Reference
The Investments and Projects Department is charged with the
management of the Investment Portfolio. The goal of investing is to
build a solid and secure fund by ensuring that earnings form
investments adequately provide for the growth of the fund, to enable
payment of all current and future benefitscommitments and
operational expenses. The Department thus develops thestrategies to
maximize returns on Trust’s portfolio; protect the integrity of the
fund; and carry out analysis and processes transactions from
initial review through due diligence structuring, approval and
documentation.
Specifically, the department will:

Develop strategies
to maximise returns on the Trust's portfolio within the policy
parameters approved by the Board of Trustees

Establish standard
procedures for the appraisal and selection of investment and
project proposals received by the Trust

Carry out appraisal
of investments and projects using approved methods, criteria
benchmarks and prepare appropriate briefs and recommendations to
the Investments Committee and Board for necessary approvals

Coordinate and
monitor the implementation of the Trust's investment projects in
a cost-effective manner, while ensuring that implementation
targets are met

Manage the Trust's
real assets in ways that minimise costs and enhance returns

Manage the Trust's
liquid assets using standard treasury management methods

Maintain records,
prepare accurate financial statistics on the Trust's investment
and report on the performance of the Trust's investments to the
investment committee and the Board of Trustees, using
internationally accepted accounting and reporting methods

Maintain close
coordination with support areas inside and outside the Trust to
ensure smooth functioning of investment operations
Specific Departmental
Qualification Requirements
A Masters Degree in
Economics, Finance or Business Administration with five years
relevant work experience
A Master's Degree in
Economics, Finance or Business Administration with three years
relevant work experience. A good Bachelor's Degree in Economics,
Finance or Business Administration with ten years relevant work
experience
Masters Degree in
Economics, Finance or Business Administration with two years work
experience Bachelor's Degree plus post graduate Diploma plus four
years relevant work experience
Bachelor's Degree plus
post graduate Diploma and three years experience or Bachelor's
Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration plus eight
years relevant experience
A good Bachelor's
Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration with two
years relevant work experience
