Specific Departmental Qualification Requirements

The department processes and pays benefits in compliance with the NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY AND INSURANCE TRUST ACT NO. 5 2001.

 

Terms of Reference

The main goal of this department is to efficiently deliver prompt and accurate benefits payments to our esteemed members who qualify for Social Security Benefits

 

Specifically, the Department:

  • Assesses and pay Social Security benefits and Government Pensions-in payment accurately, securely and promptly

  • Gives advice and information about Social Security Benefits, particularly making sure that those who are entitled to, but not claiming benefits can get all help they need to make their claims

  • Prevents and detects benefits fraud, prosecute officials and recover any benefit paid incorrectly

  • Handles Medical Board reviews and Appeals speedily

  • Maintains the pension database and makes necessary adjustments, ensure accurate payments

The department consists of 3(three) units namely:

  •  Claims Processing Unit

  •  Payroll Unit

  •  Investigations and Monitoring Unit.

A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences with five years relevant work experience Or Doctorate Degree with relevant experience

A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences with three years relevant working experience. Or a good Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences plus ten years relevant work experience

Master's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences plus post graduate diploma and two years relevant work experience. Or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences plus post graduate Diploma plus four years relevant work experience.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences plus eight years relevant experience. Or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences plus post graduate Diploma and three years experience.

A good Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Social or Physical Sciences with two years relevant experience
